Dexter: Cast & Creators Live at the Paley Center

"There are some children on the show. Do they know what it's about?"
Paley Center for Media provides an outlet for those seeking a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite shows. In March 7, 2007, the cast and creators of DEXTER got together onstage in Beverly Hills for a panel interview conducted by that tall drink of water, Kristin Veitch of E! Entertainment, herself a self-professed avid DEXTER fan. Now this took place some years ago, when the show was just entering its second season, and so there's a smidge of a dated feel to this. For one thing, we already know that, from the second season on, the showrunners opted to go their own way rather than follow Jeff Lindsay's ensuing Dexter novels.

The DEXTER panel consists of Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, Lauren Velez, James Remar, Erik King, Jennifer Carpenter, exec. producer/writer Daniel Cerone, and exec. producers Clyde Phillips and Sara Colleton. Really Enjoyed Michael Hall in this DVD!
I thought Michael C. Hall was brilliant as David Fisher, but he's even better as Dexter. It was always weird to watch him in Six Feet Under, all conflicted about his sexuality, and then see him as a serial killer on Dexter - it's quite a contrast. During this discussion, Michael C. Hall shares his personal thoughts about Dexter vs. David. Hearing it come straight from him on screen was so much more satisfying than the reviews and producer interviews I've read online. There's just something about seeing all the actors up there describing their characters and relationships that takes the TV experience to a whole new level. Definitely worth the $20 if you enjoy the show at all.
